Strong Candidates to Restore Balance at the Capitol

St. Paul- House Republican Leaders announced a strong team of candidates Thursday who are seeking to restore balance at the Capitol. House Republican Leader Kurt Daudt (Crown) and Deputy Leader Jenifer Loon (Eden Prairie) were joined by candidates on the front steps of the State Capitol prior to a mass filing for Minnesota House seats at the Secretary of State’s office.

“It’s time to restore balance in Minnesota. Lopsided lawmaking at the Capitol has brought Obamacare to our state and taken billions in new taxes from hardworking Minnesotans only to turn around and build new offices for politicians. We’re excited to announce we have over 100 leaders from across the state that have filed or are filing for office as of today,” said Leader Daudt.

“Our candidates are already great representatives of their communities which will make them thoughtful and effective legislators. From Rainier to Eagan, Roseau to Luverne, we are thrilled to have small business leaders, teachers, veterans, moms and dads step forward and offer to be part of the solution for hardworking Minnesotans,” added Deputy Leader Loon.

There are fewer than 160 days before Election Day and House Republicans need seven seats to earn the majority in the Minnesota House in 2014. The Minnesota House, Minnesota Senate and Governor’s office are all currently controlled by Democrats.
