House Republicans Kick Off 2018 Campaign
St. Paul, Minn.—House Republican Leaders announced a strong team of candidates Tuesday at a mass filing event as they filed for office seeking to build on the historic accomplishments from the 2017-2018 session. Speaker of the House Kurt Daudt (R-Crown) introduced several candidates at a press conference on the front steps of the State Office Building as House Republicans kicked off the 2018 election cycle.
"Over the past two years, House Republicans led on the issues Minnesotans care about; we lowered health care costs for the first time in years, passed into law the largest tax cut in nearly two decades, and invested record amounts into road and bridge infrastructure," Speaker Daudt said. "We have a team of Minnesotans from all walks of life that are ready to run, ready to win, and ready to serve their communities and build on those accomplishments when they're elected this November."
House Republicans are working to maintain and grow their historic majority. Last fall, House Republicans grew their majority to a historic 77 seats, the most after a Presidential election in modern history.
