About Sandy Layman

Representative Sandy Layman is in her first term in the Minnesota House. She represents portions of Itasca and Cass counties.

Sandy and her husband, Bill, live in Grand Rapids. Together they have two sons and one grandson. Sandy has led a 30-year career dedicated to keeping northern Minnesota strong and economically vibrant including running her own business, Layman Consulting, serving as Commissioner of Iron Range Resources (IRRRB), and leading as president of the Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce.

Sandy has a BA degree in Organizational Management & Communications from Concordia University and an MBA in Executive Management from the University of St. Thomas. She is an adjunct faculty member at the College of St. Scholastica.
